Lynn Zhao: Alice in Wonderland paper cuts
Using Alice in Wonderland as her core narrative, Lynn explored the boundsĀ of how a narrative can be reduced to just a few iconic images by creating layered paper cuts of two scenes from the story: Alice falling down the rabbit hole, and her meeting with the Cheshire Cat. Despite the limits of her chosen medium — colorless, motionless, and without text — Lynn’s work still portrays the essence of Alice, revealing just how ingrained this imagery is in our culture.
